STRENGTHS

What are my soft skills,
my strengths

Quick lerner

Passion for learning is what drives me. Learning new stuff is what keeps my engine going. But these are just words, right? What if I tell you that I just reached a B2 level in German in less than a year? Well, then it becomes a fact.

Curious by nature

If there is something I do not know about, I will look for information about it until I learn most I can. I need to understand why things work the way they do. As a developer, that is fundamental: you need to be curious.

Hard worker

Once I commit myself to the cause, there is no way to stop me. I consider myself a dedicated and focused person. I personally believe that a programmer needs to dedicate tones of hours in order to build cool and useful apps and sites.

Do you want to know
more about me?

Here there are some FAQ a lot of people ask me... Okay, not really. But my mum said it is a good idea to answer some questions so you get to know me better.

Why did you decide to learn to code?

Long story short (if I can 😂). In the middle of the pandemic I was doing an internship in a Gallery called SOMOS Art House in Berlin. There, I would be in charge of the social media content carring out some graphic design and postproduction stuff as well as production tasks. Of course, Corona came in and we had to reduce the amount of visitors allowed to our exhibitions (at the time, very very few). Paulus Fugers, director of SOMOS, had the idea to create a website or an app to control the fluency of visitors in order to set a limit and not use a Google Survey, as we used to. Eventually, the idea didn't work out, but it rooted in my brain and I started to dive in the world of web development and code. First, I created the prototype with Adobe Xd. By the time, I didn't know it was a protoype, I believed I was creating the actual app, eventhough it seemed a little weird, since I wasn't sure how people were going to use it. Nevertheless, I worked on it and as soon as it was done, I realized: 'okay. This is not the final product. Something is missing.' I did my research and found out that coding skills were necessary to develop the application. I was so delighted and curious by all the possibilities that coding skills could bring to my life, that I decided to take a step further and learn to code. Code for me is independence, creativity and the possibility to develop your own ideas to make an impact in this world.

What would motivate you to make a move from your current role?

Not only role, but also career wise. I am highly motivated, willing to start a new project and to learn from my colleagues. It would motivate me to work in a challenging enviroment and project that brings technology to social issues and society. Also, I am very versatile, and I would love to be involved in a different variety of projects: music, fashion, cinema and audiovisuals, art, market places and many more. My curiosity has no limits!

Tell me about a time when you had to juggle several projects at once. How did you organize your time? What was the result?

I have no problem with doing different things at a time. Eventhough I think it is better to solve problems and do tasks one by one, I do not mind to be 'multitasking'. For example, as I told before, in SOMOS I was in charge of the social media content (mostly videos), but I also had to interview the artists, so I had sometimes to stop editing, read the notes I had taken about the artists and his/her work, and jump right into the interview. Also, I had to do editorial design and write the labels of the pictures for the exhibitions and design its poster. So I had a lot to take in, sometimes in a small period of time. But I was glad I could do everything with a nice outcome and of course, I was glad I could help. Besides, everybody was happy with the result of my work.

How do you feel working with a team? Tell me about your favorite experiences.

Eventhough I am very independent when it comes to work, I really like working within a team. I personally believe it is very enriching and beneficial. Also, you can learn a lot from your colleagues and that is what I love most about it. Besides, I believe in the power of community and teamwork towards a common goal. Not to say that you always need someone to review your code when your brain is boiled up 🤪.

BONUS QUESTION: Where is Palau-solità i Plegamans?

A lot of people ask me this question. Where is it exaclty? Wait, can you repeat it? Not only foreign people, but even fellow catalan people. Well, let me tell you that Palau (long name short), is a beautiful (low-key exageration) village located in the region of Vallès Occidental, Catalunya. Most known to be very close to Caldes de Montbui (also very known for its thermal baths). Eventhough, we may not have such a thing, but Palau will surely make you fall in love with its inhabitants and its peaceful way of living.
